My Initial Psychiatric Evaluation is a 60-minute, comprehensive mental health assessment for residents, thoughtfully designed to understand you as a whole person — not just a list of symptoms. During this initial psychiatric evaluation, I take time to carefully review your mental health history, current concerns, medical background, reproductive history when relevant, and any previous treatments that have helped or fallen short. Because this is a 60-minute psychiatric assessment online, you can join from the privacy of your home while still receiving the depth of an in-person visit. I will ask about mood, anxiety, sleep, focus, energy, relationships, stressors, and how these are affecting your daily life. For many people, this in-depth psychiatric evaluation is the first time someone has put all the pieces together into a clear, compassionate understanding of what is happening.
I use this visit as a comprehensive mental health assessment to clarify diagnoses, discuss evidence-based options, and begin building a plan that feels realistic for your life. This may include medication, supportive therapy strategies, lifestyle adjustments, or coordination with your therapist, OB/GYN, or primary care clinician. If reproductive or hormonal factors are involved — such as PMDD, pregnancy, postpartum, or perimenopause — I integrate that context into every recommendation.
By the end of your mental health history assessment, you can expect to walk away with a clearer picture of what you are experiencing, why you may be feeling this way, and what next steps are available. My goal is for you to leave this first visit feeling heard, respected, and less alone, with a concrete plan to move forward rather than more confusion or uncertainty.
